Let There be Light
It is not enough to be lovely
It is not enough to be bright
It is not enough to have virtue
It is not enough to be right.
The way of the world lies in questions
To grow in both wisdom and might.
The power of all lies in asking
To search the heavens for light.
To walk the world in half-blindness
To see what you barely can see.
Open your eyes; walk here with me
I’ll show you what this life can be.
For if you truly have knowledge
Tempered with goodness and sight
All of the world lies in waiting
Mount up on wings to take flight.
So soar my friend from your troubles
Give in to your wish to be free.
I’m waiting to walk here beside you
I’m waiting; hoping you see.
