The Sceptre of Power
that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves, too."
PICKING UP THE SCEPTRE OF POWER
In his book, Awaken the Giant Within, Anthony Robbins talks about the Niagara Syndrome. He likens life to a great river. Most of us jump right in without really deciding where we want to go. Before we know it, we're so busy fighting the current – current events, current fears, current challenges – that when we get to a fork in the river, we don't consciously decide which direction is going to take us to the best outcome. We just "go with the flow." As you can imagine, it doesn't take long before people are swept up and feel lost, depressed and completely out of control. A few are lucky enough to hear the raging water downstream; effectively "waking them up". This is great, except that by the time they hear the water, they're five feet from Niagara Falls in a boat with no oars. Not exactly the position you had hoped for in your life; and yet, these are the lucky ones! If they make some quick decisions and paddle like crazy, they might stand a chance. But some people never even hear the water. They just get swept along until they take a mighty fall. Sometimes its an emotional fall, sometimes it's a spiritual fall, and sometimes it is a physical or financial fall – but no matter how you look at it; if you don't consciously decide what you want in your life, you will experience a fall at some point downstream.
Decisions Are the Pathways to Power
Henry David Thoreau said, "I know of no more encouraging fact than the unquestionable ability of man to elevate his life by a conscious endeavor." As we've discussed, when you understand the laws of the Universe, you garner the power to change your destiny; however, power without action is wasted. In the book of James we are told that "faith without works is dead." Your part of the equation is to begin with the Principle of Mentalism – which is to elevate your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. This is, in effect, deciding what you want in your life and going about the process to create it. Your power to manifest begins with nothing more than a decision. It doesn't even have to be a conscious decision; the results will be the same. What you think about, you bring about. It's plain and simple; and it works every time.
Walk the Walk and Talk the Talk
Spiritual leader, President Marion G. Romney, once remarked that God, "can only guide our footsteps when we move our feet." There is an old saying that says, "Pray as if everything depended on God, and work as if everything depended on you." No matter how brilliant or wise we believe we are, I guarantee that God is smarter. He knows the end from the beginning. And guess what? He knows you better than you know yourself. He knows every one of your strengths and weaknesses, your talents, gifts and blessings, and He knows what you are here to do. You can trust in Him. He will never let you down. When you pray, don't ask to see the resolution. Just ask Him to show you the first step – then take it in unwavering faith.
Did you know that we are commanded to pray out loud? Why? Try this. Pray without words, then pray out loud and notice the difference. When we pray in our minds, we have a tendency to lose focus. This is especially true if we are tired or have a lot on our plate. Our minds wander and we begin to think about other things. The practice of meditation helps to alleviate this problem; however, when we really want God's help, the Principle of Mentalism is that we decide what we want and intend it with laser-sharp focus. In Genesis, Adam was given the breath of life. Breath is intention. It moves our words out of our mind and into the Universe. It is the wind that connects us to the Heavens. Think of the symbolism that when we pray, we use the breath of our lives – in essence, we give our very life – to commune with God. This powerful idea follows the Principle of Vibration, elevating us to a spiritual plane, thus enabling us to co-create. Quite literally, this is what brings Divine Magic into your life.
6 Keys to Harness Power
- Remember. Remember the power of making decisions. The very moment you make a decision, your life shifts and a new set of circumstances begins to take shape. Not making a decision is a decision in itself. The Law of Gender requires both thought and intent; meaning both receptivity and action. Committing oneself through a conscious decision is to balance both the idea of the decision and the actual action in moving it forward.
- Commit. Your level of commitment; in essence, how deeply you feel the intention, will determine how quickly you are able to manifest your desired outcome. Often, truly making a committed decision is the hardest step; actually carrying it out is easier. The secret is to make decisions intelligently and quickly. Don't over think. When you receive inspired ideas – put them in motion NOW. This sends a message to the Universe that you are listening and committed to what you desire. Once you decide what to do – take the first step right then. Don't wait! This is like deciding to go on a diet – but you'll start on Monday. You have just told the Universe that you're not really committed to your decision.
- Decide Often. The more decisions you make, the better you will get at making them. Tools such as a Gratitude List, a Vision Board, etc. get you in the habit of deciding what you are thankful for or what outcomes you desire. Make small decisions every day that will bring you closer to your goals.
- Learn! Understanding the Law of Polarity, the Law of Vibration, the Law of Rhythm, etc. does not mean that you will get it right every time. After making more than two hundred attempts at the light bulb, Thomas Edison was quoted as saying, "I am not discouraged, because every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward." Failure only occurs when we don't learn something along the way. When things don't go the way you planned, your first question should be, "What is the lesson? What can I learn from this situation?" This also raises your vibration to bring good things.
- Be flexible. Yes, stay absolutely committed in your decisions; however, it is not for you to decide how they will be manifest. That is the Universe's job. Your part is to climb the mountain to seek guidance, do all you can – and trust that God will make up the difference. I have a tendency to get lost…often. I used to become upset and frantic until I realized that some of those "detours" in life actually brought me to exciting treasures that I wouldn't have found on my original route.
- Enjoy the journey! Your will and agency to choose – to decide – is a precious gift of God. This was so important to your success that a war was waged in Heaven to protect it. Understand the power you hold. It is your decisions, not your conditions, that shape your life. Live with passion and with purpose.
Assignment:
Make a list of what you intend for your life. Add to it daily. As you write each item, say it out loud and take action – large or small – to signal the Universe that you believe you will receive it. Know that every decision you make could be the catalyst that forever changes the course of your life. You deserve the best of everything – and it is all yours when you truly decide. Live well and be happy!

Help

I like the idea of visiting that beautiful house you have on the home page and going inside to find rooms with people in each along with a teacher speaking on these themes you present here, touching base on the fundamental principles and practices for tapping into magic and imagination….noticing the root word of both words are the magi…
And the Sceptre as being the rod, the wand, that archetypal form of power to direct and concentrate the will is a fascinating metaphor and symbol and literal tool worth choosing, having, and using!
A peaceful place wherein to learn is so important, even if in the mind, or another plane of awareness! Thanks for sharing.
